Buying a report
What do I see before I pay?The make, model, variant and year of the car we found for the rego or VIN, so you can check it's the right one. Nothing about its records.
How much is a report?$29.95 incl. GST. Verified dealers and workshops pay $9.95 a report, in bundles of 25, 50 or 100.
Do I need an account? No. You buy with an email address, and the report and receipt go to it. If you sign in later with that address, the reports you bought are there.
What if there are no records? You still get a report. It says that no manufacturer or workshop records were on file for the car when it was issued.
Reading a report
How long can I read it?Online for 30 days, and as a PDF to keep.
What is a reissue?Inside the 30 days, once a report's records are 7 days old, you can reissue it with any records that have arrived since. A reissue is a new version with its own verify link.
What does a period with no records mean? That we hold no manufacturer or workshop record for that time. It does not say whether the car was serviced then.
Why is a record marked as the owner's?An owner supplied it. Owner records are shown in their own section until the workshop named on them confirms them. A confirmed record joins the counted records, still labelled as supplied by the owner.
Checking a report
How do I know a report is genuine?Scan its QR code, or enter the code under it at myservicehistory.com.au/verify. The page shows the report number, when it was issued and whether it is still current.
What if the details don't match?Don't rely on that copy. The verify page shows the details of the report we issued.
Businesses
Who can buy at $9.95?Dealers and workshops we have verified. We check the ABN, a director's identity, and a licence or the business's motor trades insurance.
A record names my workshop. What do I do?Use the link in the email we sent you to confirm or dispute it. No account is needed.
